The University of Ghent Scholarship in Belgium

An Overview The University of Ghent is a public research university located in Flanders, Belgium. Established in 1817 by King William I of Orange, it is one of the largest universities in Europe with more than 41,000 students enrolled (including over 9,300 international students). At its founding, its mission was to educate civil servants for the newly formed Belgian state. It is now a large research-oriented university. Its eight faculties offer academic education covering all major academic fields. In 2017/18 QS World University Rankings and ARWU ranking ranked it 10th and 40th respectively among 500 European universities.

Eligibility Criteria for the University of Ghent Scholarship

Applicants must be citizens from Asia, Africa, and Latin America. -Applicants must have a high school degree or higher. -Students from Africa are required to present a certificate from IFA (International Foundation for Academic Excellence). -Applicants should not have studied at the university level before. -Academic results that meet university entry requirements are required. -A statement showing that you will follow courses in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) is needed. The letter of offer stated that you can choose which courses to study but it is recommended to take at least one math course with probability and statistics within your field of study.

Application Requirements for the Scholarship at the University of Ghent

Applicants must be female students currently pursuing their degrees at any university. They must also come from Asia, Africa, or Latin America, and prove that they have sufficient financial resources to cover all costs associated with living in Belgium. As a condition of eligibility, applicants are required to have achieved an average grade point average (GPA) of 80% or higher during their first year of study. In addition, they should demonstrate evidence of leadership skills and extracurricular activities within their community. Further requirements include successful completion of secondary school programs, fluency in English, and sufficient proficiency with either French or Dutch to undertake graduate studies at one of Ghent’s campuses located throughout Europe.
