How does the Shell Graduate Internship (SGI) program work?
The Shell Graduate Internship program is a paid, full-time internship based at our offices in The Hague, Netherlands. Graduates work together on interdisciplinary teams and are exposed to senior management from day one. Through a combination of training and hands-on experience, interns gain exposure to Shell’s culture and core business activities. They also have opportunities to develop their leadership and teamwork skills while they contribute to high impact projects across Shell. Along with preparing graduates for career opportunities within Shell, we hope that SGI can help students prepare for future leadership roles in any field. Our internships typically run from January until June; however, some positions may start or end later than June depending on departmental needs.
How do I apply for SGI?
Before students can apply for an SGI placement they must complete an online application form, which takes approximately 20 minutes. This will be a key step in ensuring your application gets processed smoothly and therefore we strongly recommend that all students complete their applications as soon as possible. We are able to offer placements all over the world, so it is important that students include their CV, cover letter and references within their SGI applications if they wish to be considered for a specific location. If not, please ensure your degree and academic profile section of your SGI application is updated with details of where you studied (country and institution) as well as what year of study you are currently in (preferably semester 1 or 2). These details will allow us to find suitable candidates before offers have been made.
